Focus On Health Can Help Relieve Symptoms Of:
Our Treatment Methods Include:
Myofascial Release is a gentle whole-body approach designed to lengthen the connective tissue of your body, called fascia. Fascia is a three-dimensional web-like structure that surrounds and connects every part of your body down to the cellular level. Since fascia connects every cell to all other cells throughout your body, an injury in one part of your body may lead to pain or dysfunction in a completely different area. This treatment releases the restrictions in your fascial system and can relieve a number of chronic symptoms.
CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch manual therapy that addresses restrictions in the skull, spinal cord and surrounding tissue. They use delicate techniques to detect potential restrictions and imbalances and releases restricted areas to relieve unnecessary pressure on the brain, spinal cord and all other regions of your body.
After a traumatic or surgical scar is created, adhesions are formed which pull on your vital structures. This can greatly limit movement and elicit pain in various parts of your body. This treatment improves function in all of your body systems, increases range of motion, decreases pain and often reduces the physical properties of the scar itself. The treatment of your old scars can still create a positive therapeutic response in your body and is extremely important and often overlooked.
Kim Lawler-Coyle, P.T., has specialized in TMJ Therapy since 1984. Problems with the temporomandibular joint (or jaw joint) causes more than just jaw pain. It results in numerous interrelated conditions including headaches, ear and sinus problems, dizziness, as well as facial, neck or shoulder pain. Kim incorporates our entire experienced team in the treatment plan to maximize the benefits received by you. Kim’s knowledge and specialized experience in the field of TMJ have resulted in dozens of Orange County dentists and physicians trusting Focus On Health with the treatment of their patients.
The Feldenkrais Method® utilizes two primary techniques: Functional Integration, a gentle, hands-on approach, and Awareness Through Movement, which uses verbal direction, movement and imagery. These are two variations to improve a person’s posture, body awareness, mobility, balance, coordination and function in everyday living.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) is a very gentle hands-on technique designed to activate and cleanse our immune system. Our team can detect the specific rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymphatic flow with the light touch of their hands and fingers. LDTs many benefits include the reduction of swelling, enhanced body detoxification, tissue regeneration and relief of chronic pain.
Therapeutic Exercise helps to increase your range of motion through stretching and mobility exercise. Our team will often use one-on-one therapeutic exercise as the foundation for rehabilitation, muscle strengthening, postural stabilization, endurance training and conditioning programs. It is vital to improve muscles that may have weakened after trauma, illness, surgical procedures or from general lack of exercise. This program also plays a role to help you maintain your strength as you age and prevent possible future injury. Focus On Health’s experienced staff are able to correctly assess what elements of therapeutic exercise are best for your rehabilitation and treatment plan.
The goal of Body Mechanics Training is to provide you with the knowledge to prevent potential injury while correctly aligning your body, improving posture and increasing your body awareness. This is a highly beneficial education for everyone, especially those who suffer from repetitive strain injuries.
